Does what it says on the tin!
These guys are queue-jumpers, via the “stuff I can paint at work” clause – as opposed to stuff I’ve been working on for ages. That’s pretty much it for these ones. I mean, there’s not a lot interesting that you can write about more of the same three sculpts you’ve shown before, all painted more or less identically. These are all new, though. None of the first batch are shown in the mob above. I’ll make the lot of them more interesting soon, but for now. this bunch is done!
Nicely done mate – it’s always good to get the rank & file done, even if it is a bit of a slog 🙂

I have ~32 of these models myself. Still among my favourites in the range. Nice work on them, the contrast between the bright armour and dark robes works well.

Thanks Dave. I had a couple of different palette options to decide from when painting them, but went with this because it still looked suitably grungy and fit reasonably with models like the Mouth of Sauron.

Very nice to see them all together. Even though the poses are limited they still look quite dynamic. The colour scheme really works on those guys. You achieved quite some contrast even though they are mostly black.

Keeping them clearly black is always an objective with such minis. I can appreciate differing styles on other people’s work, but I prefer to avoid “highlight to white” on my own models with only a few exceptions (Eldar for instance, should I ever actually get around to painting some)…

I agree. I prefer very light final highlights, but not pure white. It does seem a bit artifical this way or lets say stylized.
